Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Boiling in Nanochannels Davood Toghraie Semiromi davoodtoghraie@gmail com Jun 13nd 2011 Department of Mechanical Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran A R Azimian azimian@cc iut ac ir M Amini m amini@ cc iut ac ir S Ziaee RadAbstractMolecular dynamics simulation of annular flow boiling in a nanochannel is numericallyinvestigated In this research an annular flow model is developed to predict the superheated flowboiling heat transfer characteristics in a nanochannel To characterize the forced annular boilingflow in a nanochannel an external driving force F ext is applied along the flow direction to inletfluid particles during the simulation Based on an annular flow model analysis it is found thatsaturation condition and superheat degree have great influences on the liquid vapor interface Also the results show that due to the relatively strong influence of the surface tension in smallchannels the interface between the liquid film and the vapor core is fairly smooth and the meanvelocity along the stream wise direction does not change anymore Keywords Annular Boiling Nanochannel Molecular Dynamics Simulation Heat Flux Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan University of Technology Department Graduate Program Coordinator
