111 Designing Software Prototype for Static 3D Modeling of Lithological and Petrophysical Parameters of One of South Oil Field Sandy Reservoirs Arash Tehranchi arash tehranchi@gmail com Date of Submisson 2011 16 07 Department of Mining Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Nader Fathianpour fathian@cc iut ac irSupervisor Morteza Tabaei tabaei@cc iut ac irAbstractIn the recent years the 3D geological models are widely used in description of the deep reservoirsinstead of the two dimensional maps The main reason of this event is the high dependency of thedesign of the development programs of the reservoir to the three dimensional geological dataparticularly the petrophysical or lithological data of it The aim of this work is to modeling of Asmary reservoir in the south eastern part of Ahwaz oilfield The lithological and petrophysical properties of this reservoir are modeled The oil in situcapacity of this reservoir is estimated and optimum points for drilling are specified by this model These operations are performed using IRAP RMS WinGslib and Matlab softwares Ahwaz oil field is an anticline with length 67km and 4 6 km width The location of this reservoir is48 49 latitude and 31 32 longitude In this work the data from 32 exploring wells are analyzed Inorder to manage the data obtained from the wells it is necessary to establish a databasemanagement system using SQL Server 2008 At the first step the petrophysical properties of the reservoir in all 32 wells were estimated by theresults of the analysis based on neural network algorithm Then based on the results of thevariograms analysis the anisotropy ellipsoids in different three dimensional directions have beencalculated Three dimensional indicator and simple kriging models have been generated forpetophysical properties A lithological model is established by the sequential indicator simulations After careful study of the results it can be seen that the bottom horizons of the pay zon of theAsmari formation including A61 A62 M211 M221 and M222 have more horizontal permeabilitythan other parts of this formation It is also evident that this formation has high effective porosity in general the effective porosity of the formation increased when the depth increase It can berevealed that the A1 A2 A31 A4 A61 A62 M211 M212 M221 and M222 horizons have moreeffective porosity 0 3 than the others less than 0 05 By analyzing the horizontal and verticalmaps it can be seen that the level of water saturation in almost all parts of the formation is low butA1 A2 A51 and A52 have high water saturation in special places Comparison between thesimple and indicator kriging models verifies the correctness of the study The optimum points fordrilling are suggested by the post processing of the indicator kriging models and establishingPEPST model At the end of this work after presenting the prototype of the modeling software that can simulatethe petrophysical and lithological properties of the studied reservoir the oil in situ volume of thereservoir is estimated about 1732576984 43 m3 Keywords Asmari reservoir Ahvaz oil field Simple kriging Indicator kriging Sequentialindicator simulation PEPST model Petrophysical modeling Lithological modeling Databasemanagement system
