Investigation of the K K pp and 1405 Formation in High Energy pp Collision Maryam Hassanvand m hasanvand@ph iut ac ir April 4 2011 Department of Physics Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranSeyed zafarollah Kalantari supervisor zafar@cc iut ac irAhmad Shirani advisor Akbar Parvazian advisor Abstract We have formulated and calculated the differential cross section for the formation of thesimplest double K nuclear cluster system K2K2pp in the reaction process p p 4 K K 5 5 4 K K K2K2pp where 5 is a quasi bound K2p state corresponding to the 5 1405 resonance From a comprehensive study of the calculated effects of the binding and density ofK2K2pp on the cross section we find that the bound state peak of K2K2pp dominates over thespectrum when and only when the system is dense This is understood as meaning that the two5 doorway particles interact immediately within a short distance assisted by a large momentumtransfer 1 8 GeV c and a short collision length 0 3 fm which helps to enlarge the 5 25sticking into a dense K2K2pp system This mechanism is similar to that for a single K cluster K2pp formation which has just been proven by a DISTO experiment The K2K2 repulsioncauses an energy shift to somewhat lower binding and a reduction in the peak cross section butdoes not change the basic character of this reaction In second part of the present thesis we have formulated the 5 1405 4 0 invariant mass spectra produced in p p 4 p K 5 1405 reactions which can be applied to theanalysis of experimental data The spectrum shape is composed of the incident channel and thedecay channel for any existing model for 5 1405 Available experimental data are analyzed todeduce the best fit mass and width of 5 1405
