71 Assessment of Noise Pollution in Isfahan City Sepideh Danesh s danesh@in iut ac ir 26 February 2012 Department of Natural Resources Isfahan University of technology Isfahan84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor N Mirghafari m norolah@cc iut ac irAbstractNoise pollution is one of the most important problems in big cities that endangers human health in different vital andmaterials distances These research goals are assessment of temporal and locality changes of noise pollution incenteral parts of Isfahan and producing interpolation Noise map in these areas in this study 10 station in residential comerical residential comerical and historical recreational areas were selected and noise parameters weremeasured in 2 times of a day 10 o clock and 17 o clock during 3 season of winter spring and summer with Brueland Kjaer 2239 The highest a mount of noise pollution were obtained in the station that was located in Abdolrazaghstreet about 76 5 dB and the lowest amount were obtained in Hashtbehesht Park about 54 5 dB In this research thehighest amount of noise pollution was belong to residential comerical areas with equivalent level about 71 6 dB Inmajority of stations morning equivalent level s were more than afternoon In comerical and residential comericalareas the significant leq diffrances were obtained between winter s morning and afternoon and in historical recrentional areas it was obtained between summer s morning and afternoons In these areas these significantdiffrances were obtained between all 3 seasons morning and also in winter and summer s afternoons in comericalareas this significant equivalent level diffrances were obtained in summers and winter s morning Correlation testshowed the effects of buses and motorsycels in producing noise pollution in residential areas and cars in comericaland residential comerical areas Another correlation test showed that the good plants covering is usefull forreducing the noise pollutions Noise interpolation maps were produced and these maps showed that noise pollutionin winter is less than summer and spring in all areas In this way in 3 station Ahmad abad square Naghshjahansquare and Abdolrazagh streat measurements in 3 days of a week Saturday thusday and Friday and in differenttimes of a day during these seasons were done these results showed that significant equivalent level differences inAhmadabad square and abdolrazagh square were obtained in all 3 seasons but in Naghshejahan square they onlyexist in winter furthermore in different sites of Hashtbehesht Park noise pollution s changes were evaluated theresults showed that different sites in this parks that were located in different distances of main streat and haddifferent plants covering had different amount of noise pollution the highest amount of leq was belong to the sitenear the chaharbagh streat with 68 8 dB and the lowest amount of leq was belong to the site in the middle of the parkwith amount of leq about 61 3 db totally the results showed that in all station leq is upper than limitted amount ofleq that were determined by Iran environmental organization and noise pollution is one of the environmentalproblems in centeral parts of Isfahan Key words noise pollution Isfahan Equivalent level noise interpolation maps
