Extended Abstract In order to study the central and peripheral effects of oxytocin vasopressin and histamine on the steroidsecretion the following research program was conducted In the fisrt stage 5 sheep were intra cerebroventricularycannulated with needle 18 gauge The exact point was confirmed by the extraction of cerebro spinal fluid and X raygraphy These sheep were kept individually and injected with antibiotics for 5 days Unfortunately thecircumstances were not strile enough and the infection was spread to sheep and all were died In second stage 4sheep were intravenously injected by 0 125 250 and 500 nano mol of the hormones and histamine Each sheep wasindividually injected for 4 days and the blood samples were collected via jugular vein 3 hours later Blood serumwere analyzed by CLIA and ELFA method as the accurate way of evaluation The data were analyzed by GLMprocedure and the averages were compared by Duncan s method Results revealed that vasopressin increasedcortisol level at 125 nM p and interestingly reduced this steroid at 250 and 500 nM p without anyeffect on estrogen and progesterone In spite of the similarity of molecules oxytocin did not affect the cortisolsecretion except at 250 nM It also increased estrogene secretion at 125 nM p and decrease the same steroidat 500 nM p without ant effect on progestrone secretion Finally histamine did not change any steroid levelat any dosages It might be concluded which posterior pituitary hormones may act peripherally on different steroidsecretions
