Abstract Some researchers classified abortion and stillbirths into pathologic category and only consider theaspects of infectious in their studies The study with physiological perspective can help to resolve thisproblem These samples were collected from a dairy farm during four months Maternal blood serumtested for complete blood cell count and thyroid hormones and liver enzyme Cultures of contents ofabomasums ELISA test for fetal brain tissue and abdominal fluid and measurement of liver glycogenand liver histology was done on fetus Physical examination also took on the mother and theircalf Data were analyzed by the statistical software SAS 9 1 and GLM procedure For the logicalconclusion average of groups was also compared with physiologically normal references Resultsshowed that the aborted cow had higher thyroxin hormone than the control group significantly buttriiodotyronine hormone showed no significant difference between the control group and abortion theratio between these two hormones showed that the abortion group than control group was notsignificantly different In stillborn cattle two thyroid hormones thyroxin and triiodotyronine notsignificantly different but the ratio between the two hormones in group stillbirths was lower thancontrol group significantly The results showed that between the stillbirth and abortion groups there isno significant difference about SGOT SGPT between stillbirth groups and its related control wasfound differences White blood cell count percentage of lymphocytes eosinophils neutrophils neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio the number of lymphocytes and neutrophils between abortion groupand its control was not significantly differences But percentage of monocytes and monocytes andeosinophils count between the two groups was significance difference instillbirthsgroups versus itscontrol WBC lymphocytes monocytes eosinophils count monocytes and eosinophil percentage wasnot significantly different But the percentage of lymphocytes and neutrophils and the ratio betweentheir and number of neutrophils was significantly difference between the stillbirth and controlgroup In abortion group hematocrit hemoglobin and red blood cells were not significantly differentfrom the control group and in stillbirths in terms of three factors hematocrit hemoglobin and redblood cells significantly difference was observed None of abortions and stillbirths and control groupsnot differed significantly from the mean corpuscular volume mean corpuscular hemoglobin meancorpuscular hemoglobin concentration was observed In abortion group versus control group the threefactors platelet count and volume and the total of blood platelet volume was not significantlydifference and in stillborn group only platelet count was significantly difference Liver tissue scorewas difference between abortion and stillbirth Liver glycogen was also show a significant differencebetween the stillbirth and abortion groups The results showed that in aborted and stillborn cows wasnot significant lack and increase in plasma levels of thyroid hormones and liver enzymes Evaluationwhite blood cells and diagnostic tests for infectious agents in the fetus and fetal tissue liver showedthat with all health care infectious agents plays main role for stillbirth and abortion Red blood cellrelated factors showed that chronic hypoxia has been causing in the stillborn cows And in liverglycogen character deficiency were found in the dead calf suggested that dystocia and infectiousagents in groups of stillborn calf could be generating Keywords Abortion stillbirths dystocia complete blood count liver glycogen liver histology
