Synthesis and Characterization of New Polymeric Complexes of Ag I Cu II and Ni II with 4 4 dicyanamidobiphenyl in Nanoscale and New Mononuclear and Dinuclear complexes of Ni II and Cu II with 4 4 dicyanamidobiphenyl andtetraethylenepentamine and application of polymeric complex of Cu II as a sensor in simultaneously measurement of Dopamine and Ascorbic acid Sara Bahmanpour Khalesi s bahmanpourkhalesi@gmail com Date of Submission 2012 06 20 Department of Chemistry Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M S Language Farsi H Chiniforooshan Assist Prof chini@cc iut ac ir Abstract In this thesis 4 4 dicyanamidobiphenyl bpH2 ligand have been synthesized and characterized by FT IR UV Vis and 1H NMR spectroscopies By using bpH2 and acetate salts of Ag I Cu II and Ni II polymeric complexes Ag bpH n Cu bp H2O 2 n and Ni bp n have been prepared and characterized by elemental and thermalgravimetric analysises FT IR and UV Vis spectroscopies The surface morphology and the average size particle ofthese nanocomplexes have been determined by using Scanning Electron Microscopic images SEM In the other part of this thesis mononuclear and dinuclear complexes of Ni II and Cu II Ni tetren bpH PF 6and Cu tetren 2 bpH2 PF6 4 where tetren is tetraethylenepentamine have been synthesized and characterizedby elemental and therma gravimetric analysises FT IR and UV Vis spectroscopies The FT IR spectra of thesecomplexes showed that vibrational modes of coordinated cyanamide group of coordinated bpH2 shifted into lowerfrequencies in comparison to free bpH2 Electronic spectrum of three polymeric complexes was taken in a solid stateand two mononuclear and dinuclear complexes was taken in DMF solution The intense absorption bands seen in theUV region are assigned to ligand central transitions and a weak absorption bands seen in the visible region isassigned to d d transition The thermal analysis data shown the high char yield and high thermal stability SEMimages of polymeric complexes of Ag I Cu II and Ni II shown the average siza particles respectively estimatedabout 61 87 and 77 nanometer In the application part of this thesis Cu bp H2O 2 n complex have been used as a modifier to making modifiedcarbon paste electrode and this electrode used as a sensor to measurement Dopamine DA and Ascorbic acid AA in simultaneously mode under the optimum conditions The behavior of modified carbon paste electrode was studiedby cyclic and differential puls voltammetry The proposal method was recognized as a quick sensitive and simplemethod for simultaneously measurement of DA and AA so that increasing the concentration of one spices didn thave any effect on oxidation peak of another species This method successfully was used for simultaneouslymeasurement of DA and AA in blood serum and biological fluids Key wordPhenylcyanamide Silver I nano complex Copper II nano complex Nickel II nano complex Tetraethylenpentamine Dopamine Ascorbic acid Modified Carbon Paste Electrode MCPE Sensor CyclicVoltammetry CV Differential Pulse Voltametry DPV
