Separation and preconcentrationpb II with stir bar sportive extraction SBSE coated with ion imprinted polymer and ligand 1 5 diphenylcarbazide measurement with atomic absorption spectrometry and atomic emission spectrometry ICP Arezoo Iranpoor Arezoo 7404@yahoo com 2013 01 07 Department of chemistry Isfahan University of technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Dr M Saraji Saraji@cc iut ac ir Dr M T Jafari Jafari@cc iut ac ir Abstract In this work Stir bar sorptive extraction SBSE and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry AAS and Atomic emission spectrometry with Ion Coupled Plasma ICP were used to preconcentration and measurement of Pb II Ion Imprinted Polymer IIP was also used to preconcentration and separation of Pb II in aqueous solutions This IIP is the reaction product of Methacrylic acid monomer Ethylene glycol dimethyl acrylate crosslinker 2 2 Azobis 2 methylpropionitrile initiator and complex of Pb II imprint ion with 1 5 Diphenylcarbazide in Ethanol Before putting polymer the glass bars have been placed in 3 Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane and acetone solution for 1 hour to bond the polymer on the glass surface Polymer coating was placed on the glass bars under the controlled conditions of temperature The glass bars were placed in Methanol and water solution for 4 hours to prevent the destruction of extraction phase In order to eliminate Pb II the adsorbent was stirred in Nitric acid 0 50 M solution for 30 Min Extraction parameters such as pH volume of extraction solution kind of elution solution concentration of elution solution volume of elution solution time of extraction time of desorption and extraction temperature were studied and optimized The adsorption capacity of Pb II on IIP is 12 6 mg g The relative selectivity factor r values of Pb II Ni II Pb II Cu II Pb II Cr II and Pb II Fe II are 3 78 3 84 0 88 and 3 20 respectively The detection limit was found to be 0 024 mg l with AAS and 0 106 g l with ICP Pb II concentration factor of 100 was obtained with this method The IIP has been successfully applied for the recovery of trace Pb II in real drinking mineral and river water samples and those spiked with standards Percent recovery of Pb II in water samples and the standard deviation of measurement with IIP were obtained 91 3 98 8 and 10 respectively Keywords Stir bar sorptive extraction SBSE Pb II Atomic emission spectrometry Atomic Absorption Spectrometry AAS
