Assess the impact of higher education on empowerment and social role of agricultural graduates members of engineering organization in Isfahan Province Bahman Bahrami Email address bahramibahman@ymail com Date of Submission Department of Rural development Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 8311 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Amir Mozafar Amini Aamini@cc iut ac ir Mohammad Sadegh Ebrahimi Ebrahimi ms@cc iut ac ir Abstract in Policy and planning national development higher education has always been regarded as the most important and most productive social institution Agricultural education institutions should enhance the capabilities of graduates that they could be able to confront with uncertainty complex and uncertain situations and caused to enhance their norms values and interestsPurpose of this study investigates the effect of higher education on the ability of agricultural graduates Case Study members of Agriculture and Natural Resource Organization of Isfahan province Number of samples was 280 people who were chosen from the eight fields of irrigation horticulture soil science Crop food industry animal science Medical plant and Agricultural Machinery The main tool is a survey questionnaire including three section Professional general and management to assess the needed training and capabilities of graduates As well as examined The impact of theoretical lessons Universities practical lessons Universities non formal education work experience and personal studies on the ability of graduates Formal validity That the questionnaire obtained with opinions professors and experts and reliability by using Cronbach s alpha 0 98 The results show that the graduates have evaluated the ability of the high level specialized But the general and organization capabilities was too low These results indicate that higher education has improved not General and management capabilities the graduates Graduates assessed the at large of the amount needs training in for section Professional and public and management According to Opinions the research population adding lessons such as human resource management entrepreneurship and job creation rights and legal rights office work and the principles of economics and production management are important in improving Management organizational Capabilities graduates The population the most important general lessons that need it lessons required for information Necessary for the products harvesting knowledge and combat diseases and pests plants storage and warehousing of agricultural products and processed agricultural products introduced said Theoretical and practical lessons of university had the greatest impact on graduates Professional skills theoretical lessons of the university and work experience were the most important factors that affect on the public s ability graduates Work experience and personal studies had the Most share of in managerial ability graduates there was no difference in the ability of public university graduates With The ability of public free university As well as difference was not observed between Capability male and female graduates But the specialized needs different of sexes graduates Keywords Empowerment Social role Graduates Tertiary education
