Marziyeh Khani marziyeh khani@yahoo com m khani@ch iut ac ir September Department of chemistry Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan Iran Supervisor Prof Shadpour Mallakpour E mail mallak@cc iut ac ir mallak @yahoo com mallakpour @alumni ufl edu Advisors Prof H Hadadzadeh and Assoc Prof H Javaherian Naghash Department Graduate Coordinator Assoc Prof H Tavakol Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan Iran Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan Iran Islamic Azad University Shahreza Branch Isfahan Shahreza Iran Abstract In this work at first the dinitrophenyl benzimidazole was synthesized from dinitrobenzoyl chloride and phenylenediamine and then it was reduced to the corresponding diamine by using palladium catalyst Then chiral nanostructured poly amide imide s PAI s were prepared from the direct polymerization of aromatic diamine and chiral diacids under conventional heating and microwave irradiation via simple and fast condition in the molten salt ionic liquid Because of the existence of amino acid in the monomer and polymer backbone these materials are expected to be biodegradable Therefore the biological properties of the synthetic polymers and monomers were already examined Then hybrid organic inorganic ZnO PAI nanocomposites NC s were prepared with different amount of modified ZnO nanoparticles NP s via ultrasonic process The surface of ZnO was modified with aminopropyltriethoxysilane due to the homogeneous distribution of ZnO in polymer matrix In continuous a novel poly amide ester imide s PAEI s was obtained by step growth polymerization of several optically active diacids with diol N N tetraoxo dihydropyrrolo f isoindole H H diyl bis hydroxybenzamide via tosyl chloride pyridine and N N dimethyformamide as a condensing agent Then the surface of TiO was modified by N trimellitylimido L leucine as a coupling agent to form O TiO NPs The incorporation of O TiO NPs into the obtained PAEI provided an opportunity for the construction of polymer based NCs with novel and powerful properties In the last project a new kind of polyvinylpyrrolidone NCs containing TiO modified with diacid and clay modified with L leucine via cation exchange method were prepared Key Words Biodegradable poly amid imide s Polymer nanocomposites Chiral amino acid Nanostructured poly amide ester imide s Thermal stability Polyvinylpyrrolidone Introduction The construction and application of optically active polymers OAP s are subjects currently presently attracting a great deal forethought in recent times because the affluent and multitalented structural design of polymer chirality as compared to small molecules A large amount of the naturally occurring molecules macromolecules are chiral and optically active Mallakpour et al Both synthetic chiral and naturally occurring polymers have found affluent employments in chiral chromatographic separations and shownPDF created with pdfFactory trial version www pdffactory com
