Abstract Environmental stresses biotic and abiotic are the mostfactors factors restricting growth and yield of crop productions In this regard soil pollution is important affecting human health Thus over the past decades considerable public attention has been given to remediation of contaminated soil using phytoremediation the use of plants and their associated microorganism to remediate a sit technologies The objective this study was to determine the potential of endophyte P indica inoculated with Sisymbrium Irio Descurainia sophia plants for the absorption of Cd Zn and Pb A greenhouse experiment was performed in kg pots filled with quartz sand and perlite in a randomized complete design with a factorial arrangement in triplicate at Isfahan University of Technology Experimental factor included types of plants Sisymbrium Irio Descurainia sophia levels of fungi P indica inoculated and non inoclated level of Zn mg kg levels of Cd mg kg and levels of Pb mg kg The dry weight biomasses of the inoculated plants roots and shoots were significantly higher compared to the fungus free plants The fungus inoculated plants significantly accumulated higher concentrations of Zn Cd and Pb Our results showed that P indica increases the biomass of aerial parts and roots of inoculated plants under normal and heavy metal stress condition in compare to the non inoculated ones The average shoot dry weight of Descurainia sophia of inoculated plants under Cd Zn and Pb treatments increased and and in sisymbrium and respectively compared to the non inoculated plants The uptake index of Cd Zn and Pb in the endophyte infected sisymbrium was and in Descurainia Sophia The bioaccumulation factor was also two times higher in the sisymbrium and Descurainia Sophia It can be concluded that by populating the rhizospher with selected microorganisms during the phytoextration the uptake of Cd Zn and Pb would be enhanced and also Cd Zn and Pb transfer from root to shoot and from soil to root would be better performed PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www pdffactory com
