Effect of planting and irrigation techniques on Haloxylon ammodendron C A Mey establishment in Sejzi region Isfahan province Zohreh Akbari akbarizohreh99@yahoo com May 2013 Department of Natural Resources Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83 111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Dr SeyedHamid Matinkhah Email address matinkhah@cc iut ac ir Abstract By development of the population in the earth humans have always thought to provide their immediate interests and not pay attention to their surrounding environment so are used the uncontrolled exploitation of water soil and plants and are made damage them Water shortages in arid regions of the country are considered the main limiting factors for development of vegetation in desertification projects So that at present over 70 of biologic desertification and consolidated sands projects credits spent on supply operations of Water and Irrigation in desert areas country In relation with the prevention of desertification and restoration have been done many projects in different areas Also in Iran which is located on the arid belt Therefore this project as part of the desert area which is located in Sejzi plain with aimed at achieving a way that can be further carried out establishment and survival of seedlings and increase of water productivity In this experiment was cultivated Haloxylon ammodendron planted under pitcher irrigation treatment use of super absorbent plastic floor coatings and stone cover and control A pitcher irrigation treatment of the plant required water in the root will supply from leakage of the walls of jars Super absorbent used in this design of Aquasorb and amount of 80 g were used for each seedlings In the stone cover surface treatment 80 of the surface of each trench was covered with stones and plastic film treatment to avoid water loss of the gaps was used from porous plastic film All treatments were under equally conditions and around all pits to avoid being eaten by rodents such as rats and rabbits were drawn wire grids This project was carried out the balance of the CRD over a period of nine months During this period indicators such as percentage survival of seedlings height crown diameter number of branches and sub of species were examined Data are obtained from these assessments were analyzed by using SPSS software The results of analysis of variance of data showed that suitable water supplying techniques for growth of Haloxylon ammodendron sapling in these arid conditions take the order of pitcher irrigation super absorbent usage stone coverage and plastic lining of the planting pits all in comparison to the control From significant effect of pitcher irrigation treatment on all indicators measuring making it is inferred application of clay pots for watering the saplings Haloxylon ammodendron has increased very positive effect on mentioned indicators and is more meaningful effects than other treatments So that you can see the saplings cultivated in watering jars with respect to the height crown diameter main and lateral branch during the early months is almost the same with 2 years old seedling planted in the area in the same condition as the control treatments While the amount of water needed for irrigation in each period of 25 days in the method of jug one fifth of other methods and because of its success to the ability of self regulating are on the walls of the jar which is caused by the interaction between the wall of the jar and its surroundings And this will cause that water gradually available to the plant and not suddenly to be removed of the plant Keywords Desert combat Planting techniques Water supply Haloxylon ammodendron Sejzi PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www pdffactory com
