7 Effect of Different Dietary Crude Protein and Tryptophan Levels on Performance and Immune Responses of Broiler Chickens Asadolah ghasemi a Gassemi 64 @yahoo com Date of submission Department of Animal Sciences Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisors A Sadeghi Sadeghism@cc iut ac ir A H Samie asamie48@cc iut ac irAbstractThis study was carried out to evaluate the effects of different levels of crude protein CP andtryptophan Trp on performance carcass traits and humoral immunity of broiler chickens Atotal of 240 mix sexed broiler chicks Ross 308 were randomly allocated into a factorialarrangement 2 3 based on a completely randomized design consisting 6 treatments with 4replicates of 10 birds different treatments included 2 levels of CP 100 and 90 of broiler Ross308 recommendations and 3 levels of dietary Try 100 110 and 120 of broiler Ross 308specifications Chicks recived starter 1 12 grower 13 24 and finisher 25 42 diets Weightgain feed intake and feed conversion ratio were determined over 3 age periods On day all birdswere challenged by injection route with a commercial Newcastle vaccine Then on day 28 twobirds from each replicate were chosen at random and blood samples were collected from thebrachial vein and antibody titer against Newcastel disease viruse were performed byhemagglutination halter test Also at 31 and 40 days of age two birds from each replicate wereimmunized intramusculary into each thigh with 0 5 mL of 7 SRBC Sheep Red Blood Cell suspension to determine primary and secondary humoral antibody responses Heparinized bloodwas collected from the birds at 6 day after first and 7 day after second immunizations with SRBCto evulate antibody titers against SRBC On day 49 two birds from each replicate wereslaughtered and carcass drumsticks breast pancrease thigh heart liver as well as lymphoidorgans including spleen bursa of fabricius and tymus weighted and expressed as a percentage oflive body weight Experimental data were analyzed using the GLM procedure of SAS software This study showed that reduction of dietary CP 90 increased feed intake in the end ofexperimental However levels of Different tryptophan no effect on the feed intake Alsoreduction of dietary CP increased weight gain and improved feed conversion ratio The results ofstudy showed that the level 110 Trp could improve broiler growth performance The reductionof dietary CP increased relative carcase yield However reducing CP up to 10 had no effect onthe the relative weight liver pancraces heart and lymphoid organs The of level of 120 of Trpincreased primary P 0 07 and level of 110 Trp increased secondary P 0 09 immuneresponses against Newcastel However levels of different CP no effect on the immune responsesagainst Newcastel In the end of period showed that reduction of dietary CP 90 and increaseof dietary Trp 110 caused improved cholesterol and HDL Also this study showed thatreduction of dietary CP 90 and administration of diets with 110 of recommended Trpincreased percent of monosit and administration of diets with 110 and 120 Trp decreasedconvertion of heterophil to lymphosite Therefor the best results obtained when dietssupplemented with 110 Trp and 90 of recommended CP Key words Broiler chichs Tryptophan immun responses cholesterol
