157 Identification and assesments of factors affecting In rural women s empowerment Case study Villages of Isfahan county Zahra Abolfathzadeh z abolfathzadeh@ag iut ac ir 24 December 2013 Department of rural development Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Amir mozafarAmini aamini @cc iut ac ir Ali Yousefi ayousefi @cc iut ac ir Abstract According to women s role in family they could consider as the main member of develop and progress If a society wants to have a dynamic generation in economic social and cultural fields needs great strength of women By using capability and creativity of women in deferent doings could maintain Social Justice and create a balance resource allocation and distribution of benefits In order to improving the living conditions of rural women identifying the effective factors in empowerment rural women is one of the most important subjects that researchers emphasis on it According to one decade assertion on empowerment of rural women in developing programs the purpose of this study was evaluation of ability and social cultural economic and supportive factors that effect on empowerment of Isfahan s rural women Our population for this research was composed of married women located in villages of Isfahan county that had reached legal age Population of villages was 197975 people that women consisted 83833 people and sample volume was calculated by means of kokran formula n 222 and sampling procedure of proportional stratified was done Required information was collected by questionnaire in the pre test 80 questionnaire was randomized distributed among rural women we used KMO statistic and Cronbach s alpha coefficient for evaluating stability of them Analyzing the data was done by using two approach in first to evaluate disability of women by means of Alkier and foster manner and evaluating effective factors was done by logistic regression and in second procedure we used structure equations to evaluate ability and effective factors Alkir and Foster method in addition to disable women could represent intensity and extent of disability our results suggests that by considering Cutoff level of disability around 30 percent amount and intensity of disability among rural women was 28 and 45 respectively that means 28 of women in our population at least in 30 of criterions were disable and moderately their disability intensity is 45 Results of regression model shows that academic education occupation using media high social and employment relations earning higher incomes health government support effect of using various training believe in equality and existence of credit fund have a significant effect on ability of women However variables such as primary education low income and office of communication services have a positive effect on capability and statistically is significant Modeling of structure equations method is a combination of structural models and measurement models that specify causal structure between hidden and observed variables Indeed by means of this model we could evaluate direct and indirect effects and defined interactions between variables Result in effective factors on empowerment of rural women by this method showed that variables such as education of rural women parent s and husband s education using various training media having health social and employment relations occupation receiving income believe in equality government supports existence of credit funds and office of communication services have a significant and positive effect on empowerment of rural women Key words rural women empowerment Alkir and Foster method modeling structure equations logistic regression Isfahan county
