82 The Impact of Shah Qasem Dam in yasuj from the Viewpoint of the Beneficiary Villagers Enayat parvizi e parvizi@ag iut ac ir September 13 2014 Department of Rural Development Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor S A Khatoonabadi ahmad kh@cc iut ac irAbstractDue to vital role of water in all human kind history and also population explode problem water crisis waspredictable and expertise always try to minimize water losses by various techniques since old times buildingdams as a barrier to water movement was one of basic methods to keep water resources on the other hands ityielded different social economical and environmental effects this research is designed to investigate theimpacts of dam building on beneficent villagers in Yasouj research method was based on cross surveymethod and data gathering done by two professorship procedure and field methods The researchingpopulation based on four villages sarabtave moorderaz soflaa moorderas olia and moorderaaz vostaa Sample size was determined using the Cochran formula n 192 of number person afterwards was dividedthrough the proportional allocation between different classes of the population Questionnaires weredistributed randomly among the respondents results obtained by investigating different parameters average ineconomic social and environmental fields from perspective villagers showing the most effects was ineconomical and less effects in environmental fields also results showing increase in villagers income increasing cultivation employment statues diversity in products increasing production and improvement intouristic situation of region increasing water born diseases ignoring population participation in dam buildingand no change in plant species by villagers point of view But according to review of previous studies and theperspective of experts in this sector seem that the potential beneficiaries don t have awareness ofdisadvantages of dams That this issue is effective on their attitude that leading to a demand for dam building The Search of this issue indicated that villagers attention to illusion of affluence water and effects of short time However the dams have many negative effects in the long term Keyword sustainable development economic social and environmental effects
