Abstract e me anical properties of steels are in uenced by their plastic deformations In austeniticsteels plastic deformations may occur through di erent me anisms including dislocationgliding twinning and phase transformation e sta ing fault energy governs the activa tion of these me anisms therefore it is a crucial parameter for understanding the plasticdeformations e aim of this is the investigation of role of temperature and magnetic e ectson the sta ing fault energy in austenite Iron and Ni el Our results demonstrate a strongdependence of the behavior of the magnetic e ects in iron and lower dependence of the be havior of the magnetic e ects in ni el Also when we increase the temperature the sta ingfault energy in iron is increasing and in ni el is decreasing e SFE is calculated using theaxial next nearest neighborIsing ANNNI model e random alloy and the paramagneticstate are taken into account respectively using the coherent potential approximation CPA and the disor dered local moments DLM approa as implemented in the exact mu n tinorbitals EMTO code e la ice parameter at di erent temperatures is provided using the ermal la ice expansion data measured by X ray di raction XRD e results demonstratefor the rst and second order of model
