An Analytical Model for Hybrid Segmented Bus NoC for SoCs Hossein Bastan H bastan@ec iut ac ir Date of Submission 2014 09 22 Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language PersianSupervisor Mohammad Ali Montazeri montazeri@cc iut ac irAbstract In this research an analytical model for Bus enhanced NoC architecture is proposed Generally forevaluating a specific interconnection infrastructure there are two methods simulation and analytical model Simulations based on events that happen in the system may take a long time Using an analytical model ismore precise and cost effective tool For this reason several analytical models have been proposed byresearchers for communication networks Among several analytical models which have been proposed for Wormhole routing network on chiponly few of them have focused on fully adaptive routing On the other hand to the best of our knowledge there is not any analytical model for hybrid Bus NoC In this research a new analytical delay modelpresented for this type of NoC We first present an analytical model for this type of NoC then improvementof mesh analytical model is done and finally we combine the mesh and segmented bus Accuracy ofpresented model results is verified by comparing them with simulation results under different workingconditions Keywords System on Chip Network on Chip Segmented Bus Analytical Model
