Abstract :
Open steel trough girders are used the construction of profilied composite beam. During the construction phase,it is important to ascertain their response to construction loads before the concrete is poured. A nonlinear method of deflection calcuation is described briefly, based on the nonlinear post-local buckling response of imperfect plates. The local and post-local buckling tesponse was monitored in a test programme on trough girders,and good agreement between test and theory was obtained.
