Abstract :
An analysis of local buckling of laminated plate structures subjected arbitrary loading is presented. The analysis employs the spline finite strip method which utilizes B.3- spline functions as displacement in the longitudinal direction and interpolation of Hermitian (cubic) polynomials in the transverse direction. The method is programmed to study local buckling of laminated plates. Example of the accuracy method, with increasing number of section knots lengthwise, are presented for plates of finite length subjected to compression.
