Abstract :
The reaction of 1,6-bis(3,5-dioxo-1,2,4-triazolin-4-Yl)hexane (hexamethylenehis-triazolinedione, HMBTAD) with isoprene, cyclopentadiene (monomer), 5,5-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene, hexachlorocyclopentadiene, anthracene, 1,3-cyclohexadiene and 2,6-dichlorostyrene has been investigated. These reactions occur via [4+2] Diels-Alder cycloadditiion at room or below room temperature and lead to the formation of new heterocyclic bis-adducts in quantitative yields.
