Abstract :
A selective method for the detecton of somium by flame atomic emission spectrometry is described. The method is based on extracting osmium tetroxide into MIBK, at PH 2.1-9.5, and aspirating the extract into a nitrous oxide-acetylene fame. By this procedure the effect of common interferences in atomic emission spectrometric determination of osmium has been eliminated of minimized.
