  • Abstract
    The electrophilic reactivity of imidoylnitrenes ROC(=NZ)N can be controlled by the choice of Z. With Z =SO2CH3 benzenes react only if they bear electron-donating substituent. The resulting N-arylisoureas,ROC(=NZ)NHAr,can be obtained conveniently and in high yields, without competing insertion of the nitdrenes into aliphatic C-H bonds.
