Habitat Suitability Modeling of the Gundelia tournefortii L with Emphasis on Environmental Factors in Isfahan Province Abdolah salehi ardeli Abdolah6930@yahoo com Date of Submission Department of Natural Resources Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Dr Mohammad Reza vahabi vahabi iut ac ir Supervisor Dr Mostafa Tarkech Isfahani m tarkesh@cc iut ac ir AbstractIt can be referred to medicinal industrial forage and nutrient plants productions as the mostexisting produce in rangeland ecosystems Gundelia tourenfortii L is one of the medicinal plantswhich belong to Asteraceae family It is an useful species for reduction of blood fatness speciallycholesterol protects the liver blood parification treatment of migraine cardiovascular diseases inthis study it has been tried to assess the sutitability Habitat of Gondelia tournefortii L andrelation of plant cover characteristics density canopy cover percsent with environmental factorsusing ordination and maximum entropy model the sampling in Sex rangeland habitats Teiran andKrone Kord sofla Freidan Kerch Freidoonshahr Khameslv Chadegan Hotat abad andSemirom komeh and morak with randomized systematic pattern and using by 1 5 2 plotdimension The sample size was determined 660 was done and the percent of canopy cover anddensity indices were determined in each rangeland place a soil profile was collected and soilfactors texture and depth soil organic matter saturation moisture lime percent amount ofphosphorous and restorable potassium were measured The climate factors due to themeteorological stations and using by simple linear regression method were estimated Physiographic characteristics slope aspect and altitude by clinometer device and GPS werespecified Investigation of vegetation relationship with environmental factors from RDA ordinationanalysis using CANOCO software was performed in this study presence data of Gundeliatournefortii L were collected by field survey go onto the field and using hand held GPS devicewhich are consist of 94 presence site There are 22 environmental layers including 19 climate dataand using DEM slope aspect maps has been provided and imported to the maximum entropymodel The first axis of ordination have been a very strong correlation and negative with canopycover and density r 1 r 0 92 respectively and the second axis showed correlation with soildepth r 0 85 factors average of annual temperature evaporation phosphorus and slope percentwere the most important factors in rangeland habitats separating of Gundelia tournefortii L species annual precipitation about 200 to 400 mm altitude 1700 to 2500 meter slope about 10 to45 percent and average of annual temperature about 12 C to 20 C is appropriate for presence ofthis species In order to model sutitability Habitat of Gondelia tournefortii L this species goodattendance in deep clay soils having organic matter Evaluation of maximum entropy model usingequivalent AUC value 0 945 shows good agreement with ground reality show Effective factor onGondelia tournefortii L using the maximum entropy model distributions respectively of mostparticipation including amount of annual precipitation precipitation in three month of water theyear average of daily temperature maximum temperature of the warmest month of the year andisothermal areas Keywords Gundelia tournefortii L Ordination RDA analysis Environmental factors Maximum Entropymodel
