Abstract We rst investigate Abelian duality at the classical and quntum level In the quantumconsiderations we suppose our manifold is closed We brie y introduce T duality and theimportance of Abelian duality in the string context is declared At rst it was assumed thatthe manifold is without boundary but then we consider our manifold to have a boundary andtherefore boundary conditions came into play A er calculations in whi general boundaryconditions take part we show that under the action of Abelian duality Neumann boundarycondition is replaced by Diri let boundary condition and vice versa Finally we calculate thepartition function and the two point function whi is considered on the upper half plane then by using the Cayley transform we show what it will be when we have a disk instead Keywords Abelian duality T duality String theory Boundary condition
