Synthesis of reactive dye and study study kinetics and thermodinamic of the adsorption on cellulose fibers Hamid Jalili H jalili@tx iut ac ir Data of Submission 2017 Department of Textile Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan Iran 84156 83111Degree Master of Science Language PersianSupervisors Dr Mahmmoud FeizAbstract Since 1956 the reactive dyes due to having covalent bonds with the fibre andpossessing excellent fastness properties have a wide textile industrial application During this period most of the investigations are focused on synthesis of reactivedyes with novel reactive groups which firstly have sufficient reactivity to covalentbonding with the fibre and secondly have not that high reactivity to hydrolyze thereactive dyes during the dyeing process Since hydrolyzed dye during the dyeingprocess in the house effluent causing environmental issues Therefore in order tobalance the amount of reactive dyes reactivity to covalent bonding with fibreinstead water the structural modifications of reactive dye including change in thetype of reactive groups triazine diazine dichloroquinoxaline phosphonic acid andsulphatoethylsulphone the number of reactive groups monofunctional andbifunctional and the type of bridging groups which make the linkage betweenchromogen and reactive group have been applied In this study one reactive dye containing cyanuric chloride on the base of azoacid dye was synthesized the Acid dye was reacted with the cyanuric chloride at 0 10oC and pH 4 5 for 3 hours The synthesis dyes was precipitated and identify byFTIR UV VIS and TLC The synthesized dye were applied on Cellulose fibers In dyeing of Cellulose fibers with synthesised dye the effect of concentrationand pH on the percentage of exhaustion was examined The adsorption isotherm of the synthesized dye were investigated AlsoStandard affinity was measured by the slop of the adsorption isotherm ploted Thediffusion coefficient was calculated by measuring the dye concentration in the fiberat squarnoot of times At the end by Using existing standards wet fastness wasmeasured Keywords reactive dye acid dye Cyanuric chloride cellulose fiber physicalchemistry of absorbtion
