Robust Simultaneous lot sizing and scheduling with order acceptance in flow shop environment Behnaz Tashayo b tashayo@in iut ac ir Mehdi Bijari Supervisor bijari@cc iut ac ir Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 8311 IranDegree M Sc Language PersianDate 2018 14 1AbstractLot sizing and scheduling are of the key issues in industries These issues impact company sprofits and costs Nowadays in addition to reduce direct costs companies try to considercustomer satisfaction In this competitive world despite the indirect costs that productionbased on ordering imposes on the organization custom production is often preferred to massproduction In addition to the trade off between the maximum usage of available resourcesand the reduction of preparation and storage costs we consider other constraints such as thedue date and dead line of the order in scheduling Orders may require to be processed onmore than one machines Therefore we assume flow shop environment in our research Answering to all of the incoming orders may be not optimal and sometimes impossible Therefore organizations can choose orders based on their capacity and capabilities In thereal world it s almost impossible to predict input data accurately Consequently to providea close to optimal and feasible solution using uncertain planning is desirable In this researchuncertainty arises during the processing time of orders on each machine This uncertainprocessing time causes generating over limits pollutants thus attention to theseenvironmental constraints seems necessary In this study after providing a mathematicalmodel for the above mentioned problem we developed two mathematical models underuncertainty conditions Models were evaluated based on the number of variables constraintsand the required solving time Base on proven complexity of the CLSP we proposed 5heuristic algorithms to solve the problem based on rolling horizon in high dimensionproblems Sample tests are produced in 14 dimensions by considering the changes in numberof orders machines and periods in the horizon Each sample test is made up according to thelevel of uncertainty and process time oscillation To validate the proposed algorithms thecomparison of the results with the optimal solution in small dimensions and the upper boundin high dimensions indicate the quality superiority of the fixed and optimize algorithm withtwo periods rolling horizon in all levels of uncertainty This algorithm provides solution withlow gap in comparison to the upper bound in high dimension problem which can t beaccurately solved in an acceptable time Keywords production based on orders order acceptance due date dead line greenproduction production time uncertainty flow shop
