68 A game theoretic approach for pricing and determining the amount of production with considering transportation and partially guaranteed price contracts in a sustainable supply chain Hamideh Bahrami Hamideh Bahrami@in iut ac ir Date of Submission Department of Industrial Systems Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language PersianSupervisor S Reza Hejazi rehejazi@cc iut ac irAbstractThe unprecedented growth of the population has made the supply of enough food a challenge By understandingthis issue the importance of the agricultural sector can be well received Agricultural development withoutconsidering sustainability issues causing problems such as excessive consumption of chemicals andenvironmental degradation This issue has led to paying special attention to sustainable agriculture recently On the other hand each supply chain there needs to be vertical coordination between the supply and demandof the participating factors in that chain Guaranteed price contracts that are closed between manufacturers andbuyers is a kind of vertical coordination that can benefit both parties to the contract Another important factor in each supply chain which entails significant costs to the chain is transportation Transportation costs play a significant role in the final price of the products and the profit of the chain factors The role of transportation cannot be ignored in agricultural distribution because of the sensitivity of productsand their failure during products transportation The present study studies the sustainable supply chain including a farmer a firm and transportation companies The farmer can grow two crops on his farm one with a price that is known at the time of sowing and the farmersells it on the open market after harvest The price of the other crop is not known at the time of planting anduntil harvest and the farmer can sell it in the open market or sell it with the guaranteed price contract to thefirm to produce the final product The guaranteed price contract is such that the firm can contract with thefarmer in two periods before sowing or in the interval between sowing and harvesting Also the firm offers aprice premium as an incentive for farmers to exert efforts to comply with sustainable agricultural practices Initially the problems that the firm contract with the farmer after planting and harvesting is examined In thiscase transport companies compete for the transportation of the product from the farm to the firm they pricingaccording to the amount of cargo In the following the problem that the firm contract with the farmer beforesowing is examined This problem is examined in two scenarios where the cost of transportation and product
