AbstractAfter the energy crisis in the 1970s there was a sudden increase in the focus onenergy sources other than oil One of these energy sources is solar energy Solarenergy specific attention has led to the development of solar cell research and devel opment One of the reasons for this attention is High capacity for high Efficiency p i n diods and the use of them were one of the focal points for this These cells arecomposed of the main part the two left and right Leads and a central Device In thisstudy we intend to study the behavior of p i n diodes in solar cells using the Green sapproach Using the single orbital Tight Binding model and show it in second quan tization and calculating the contribution of left and right Leads in self energies terms and by solving the Poisson s classical equation in order to obtain the variation of thehartree potential in each layer We calculate The Green s functions Now we obtainthe total density of state local density of state transport and voltage current char acteristic Then for two states two quantum wells and two quantum barriers in themiddle section of the diode examine the quantities expressed and the effects of wellsand barriers The results of the calculations show that the status of the wells is morecomplicated Quantum transport behavior follows the totall density of state and thecharacteristic behavior of the voltage current is nonlinear Changes in the width ofthe wells and barriers as in the predictions of quantum mechanics decreases themaximum current KeyWords Green s Function Tight Binding Model p i n Diod Quantum Well Quan tum barrier
