AbstractIn this work multiple objective functions are consideredto obtain the optimal configuration of ireal distribution power systems The large dimensionality of the proposed problem is maintained using the genetic algorithm method where several refinements are considered toincrease the effectiveness of the algorithm In this method each chromosom as a feasibleconfiguration of the system is subject to load flow and other power electric analysis toevaluate its fitness function value The value of the mutation operator is adjusted dynamicallyand a tabu list prevents the algorithm to evaluate a chromosom having a non radialconfiguration or a low value of fitness function Reducing active power loss of the system busvoltage deviations and excessive power flow of feeders and other objectives are optimizedsimultaneously to obtain the compromise solution of every feasible configuration consideredin genetic algorithm method The fuzzy modeling and fuzzy optimization method are used tohandle this part of the problem using a fuzzy decision set as the intersection of the fuzzy setsdefined for every objective function The membership function values of this fuzzy set showthe satisfaction degree of all objective functions at the sametime and should be maximized toobtain the optimal configuration of the network The proposed method is tested in a 33 busdistribution system as well as in a part of Isfahan central distribution network Resultsobtained show the effectiveness of the method and its capability to be used for reconfigurationof real large scale distribution power systems fwjJ1l pillJ f ti J A
