Abstract During the past decadethe science of genetics and specifically molecular geneticshasexperienceda great deal of change One of thesechanges the adventof Microarray istechnology Microarray is a powerful tool for simultaneousanalysis of the behavior ofthousandsof genes It has an important role in discovering and detectionof diseases andcreation of new methods for curing them One of the bottlenecksin this field is the timeconsuming processing of the images that are produced by the Microarray experiments Nowadays theseprocesses performed by software routines Eachgenetic experience arewhich is done by Microarrays produces hundredsof images that require large volumememory for storage In this thesis new pipeline architecturefor processing compressionand transmission of Microarray images is presented The suggestedarchitecture ismodular expandableand suitable for standardcell VLSI implementation J I l I 1 Ll LI J
