Abstract Analysis and design of structures against forces due to earthquake can be perfonned bytwo methods These methods are strengthening or isolating the structure In designing onestructure by the method of strengthening the forces resulting from earthquake are directlytransferred to the structure and each element of the structure shall resist against probablemaximum force which is inflicted on it In the method of base isolation the main purposeis reduction of structure maximum response with application of particular isolatingsystems Today various isolating systems have been developed that this affair indicates attention of scientists and researchersto the science of base isolation of structures An important part of perfonned studies on base isolation is limited to linear structures Analysis of dynamic behavior of linear structures supported on non linear base isolation support includes only a part of researches as well In perfonned studies usually specialtypes of isolators have been studied and various types of isolators with different parametershave not been considered On one side a status that both structure and isolator have non linear behavior has not been studied This is in a status that change in parameters ofvarious isolators has considerable effects in general behavior of the structure In this research the purpose is analysing of non linear structures supported on non linearbase isolating system In general each isolating system has its special behaviorconsidering type of its behavior These parameters consist of damping coefficients frictioncoefficients and primary and secondary stiffness In this thesis dissertation the responseof non linear structures supporting on four types of non linear isolators R FBI P F PFS LRB are studied The structure supported on isolating system also has the parametersrelated to itself which these parameters consist of stiffness of linear and non linear status aswell as damping coefficients A structure is selected as sample with the specifications that acts in the fonD of isolationand parametric studies are perfonned on it On one side we suppose considered structuresupported on several types of various isolators In order to study general behavior of thestructure at first one structure with one degreeof freedom and then one structure with fivedegrees of freedom supported on various isolators have been investigated We studygeneral behavior of the structure with change in parameters related to each isolator These studies are perfonned simultaneously on change of structure parameters and isolator andthe rate of effect and its interaction on behavior of the structure complex and also isolatorhave been studied by presented curves An important problem in dynamic analysis of above system is modeling types of isolators with various parameters On one side the main purpose is studying effects of change of isolators parameters on structure behavior In this research not only the effect of change in isolators parameters on the structure has been studies but also the effects of various earthquake records on the set of structure and isolator has been studied as well Including these studies we can call records with high low energy and also records with maximum different acceleration The most important matter in the present study is modeling types of isolators with their special behavior by programming and also by the aid of existing soft wares Then for each isolator all its related parameters are changed in the authorized limitation and considering the function of the complex as an isolated system For this purpose various models have been modeled by the aid of computer programming and also utilizing soft wares for non linear analysis Finally general results regarding all the above cases have been grouped in curves At last above complex can be useful as a proper guide in selecting isolating system and also detennination of that systemparametersconsidering the type of structure 1 f A If 1111 wr y
