Abstract The speed of development in computer software hardware and networks besides the charming growth of cryptography encourages governments to try to use electronic voting to reduce the costs and the stressesof elections In addition electronic voting could be used in small scale elections as well Secret ballot voting protocols are one of the most significant applications of cryptographic protocols with a history of more than two decades The most efficient secret ballot voting protocols can be categorized by their approaches into two types Schemes using anonymous channel and schemes using homomorphic encryption The suitability of each of these two types varies with the conditions under which it is to be applied In this dissertation after the introductory chapters in which the model and the used cryptographic primitives are explained we make a short survey on contemporary electronic voting and electronic polling protocols Then we propose two protocols for electronic voting The first protocol is a modification of one of the best existing protocols results in the lower order of communications Thti second protocol which we named fuzzy is a new protocol allows the voter to divide his or her vote among some candidates t l I I i lr jjJ J UJ
