AbstractThere are two familiar methods of yarn package winding namely precision andrandom winding Advantages of random winding are package stability constantdensity and can be applied when the high speed unwinding is needed Thedisadvantages of random winding are the occurrence the ribboning phenomenon andthe impossibility of the optimum using of whole volume of yarn package Precision winding is achieved by a noninteger and constant winding ratio In otherwords yarns will be laied on the yarn package surface in equal distance or next to eachother in other very neatly Winding angle increases as bobbin diameter increases sothat this can restrict the stability of the package with large diameter The objective of this study was to design and construction such a mechanism to boable to select and control the winding ratio in four steps Step Precision Winding byusing a programmable relies PLC and two frequency inverters Step precisionwinding system enables the winding ratio to be selected and controled at independentsteps and during each step winding ratio value is constant In this condition in eachstep winding angle increases as bobbin diameter increases but at the moment of entryto new step winding ratio decreases so that winding angle is corrected and its valuewill be equal to winding angle at the beginning of winding process In Step PrecisionWinding limitation on yarn packages diameter and difference of surface velocityfrom empaty yarn package to full one has been eliminated also ribboning phenomenonwill not occur Key word random winding precision winding winding ratio winding angle programmable rely Frequency Inverter step precision winding
