Abstract The Economic Order Quantity EOQ and Economic Production Quantity EPQ models are the most widely known inventory control models However examination of alarge number of manufacturing systems has revealed that holding costs of work in process WIP inventory account for a major portion of the inventory costs which iftaken into account will change lot sizes Group Technology Order Quantity GTOQ isone of the previous works in this subject that determine the lot size considering work in process inventory Pervious works show that considering time value of money in lotsizing change the order or production quantity and reduce the total inventory systemcosts Also more studies in lot sizing issue exhibit that imperfect production and reworkin production process change the lot sizing In this study various cost functions of lotsizing considering time value of money GTOQPV1 imperfect production and rework GTOQR2 and composite of these two models GTOQRPV3 have been obtained Numerical computations show that each of these three new models reduce the total costsso that the error due to ignoring time value of money and rework is not negligible in lot sizing 1 Group Technology Order Quantity considering Present Value2 Group Technology Order Quantity considering Rework3 Group Technology Order Quantity considering Rework and Present Value
