AbstractThe objective of this thesis is to develop a computer code for simulation of microscalefluid flow and heat transfer and to investigate the diffuse scattering boundary condition forcomputing slip velocity and pressure jump on the wall using lattice Boltzmann method The code has the ability of simulating fluid flow and heat transfer for different geometriesin different dimensions and uses input and output temperature Succi s boundary conditionfor simulation Fluid flow and heat transfer have been investigated by this code usingcorrelation of relaxation time with Knudsen number First lattice Boltzmann method for some largescale examples including fluid flow andheat transfer in cavity channel flow and Couette flow have been tested at differentReynolds numbers Comparing our results with results of Navier Stoks equations andFourier equation shows good agreement and very good accuracy Finally using the code fluid flow and heat transfer in microscale geometries including micro cavity and microCouette flow at different Knudsen numbers have been simulated Comparing our resultswith DSMC MD and Maxwell method show very good agreement and high accuracy offluid flow was investigated and heat transfer was investigated at microscale dimensions
