AbstractThe focus of this research was on structure reactivity and selectivity of Alumina The effect ofpreparation conditions on structural aspects and catalytic behavior of Alumina were investigated By means of XRD SEM FT IR and thermal analysis the effect of preparation conditions ontexture was monitored Elimination reaction of secondary alcohols 2 octanol and tertiaryalcohols 1 2 di phenyl 2 propanol was performed over these catalysts Elucidation of observedreactivity and selectivity has been done Effect of pressure on crystallinity and particle size wasobvious Furthermore reactivity of secondary alcohol on the catalyst calcined at highertemperatures increased Adversely the increase in reactivity of tertiary alcohol over catalystscalcined at lower temperatures was observed
