AbstractSince when human beings started dialogue with each others establishing secretcommunication has been a need This necessity becomes important when theexchanged information has considerable value The increasing expansion of internet asa means of communication has amplified the need for establishment of secureinformation channels Even though the use of cryptography can be useful in creating asecure link but the presence of such a coded communiqu may cause difficulties incertain applications In addition to cryptographic methods there is a need for schemeswhere the existence of a communication link is kept as a secret The goal ofsteganography is creating such a link Steganography is the science and art of invisiblecommunication On the other hand steganalysis is referred to the collection of methodsdevised for finding the presence of secret messages in communications In this thesis anew steganographic method called AH LSB M is proposed which is the improvedversion of LSB matching algorithm The proposed method has higher capacity andbetter security than the classical version Adaptively reducing the changes that mayoccur at the histogram has made the new method to be more resilient against histogrambased attacks Furthermore two successful attacks are proposed for the Pixel Value Differencing PVD steganography method
