Abstract In this study the dehydration of natural gas in a bed of 5A zeolite was studied theoretically In this model the heat and mass balance equations in gas phase were developed using convective and diffusive terms and adsorption of all adsorbable components took into account In the calculation of mass transfer rate external mass transfer resistance is neglected 5A pellet has a bidisperse pore structure and mass transfer resistance in these two parts is important Calculation of mass transfer in macropore is GRQH XVLQJ LFN V ODZV RI PDVV WUDQVIHU Q WKH VHFRQG SDUW PLFURSRUH ZH WHVW DQG XVHG the LDF model In this model the conservation of energy is developed separately for each phase gas and sorbent pellet It is assumed that wall is adiabatic and has no heat capacity The Ergun equation is used for calculation of pressure drop in bed For the correlating equilibrium between gas and adsorbed components we test Langmuir Langmuir Frendlich Toth and Dual site Langmuir models using experimental data from the literatures and at last Dual site Langmuir is selected for the prediction of multicomponent adsorption In this study the effect of temperature and pressure variations and mass transfer on the velocity is considered Development of conservation laws redound to the nonlinear set of partial and algebraic equations that must be solved numerically In this study we use the finite volume and implicit method for discretization of unsteady partial differential equations For the validation of simulation the results of this model are compared with the data from articles By the use of this model results the assumption of local thermal equilibrium between gas and sorbent pellet and lamped formulation of heat transfer in pellet is validated Also this model used for the evaluation of LDF mass transfer model in bed The results reveal that for the multicomponent systems this model is failed pdfMachine Is a pdf writer that produces quality PDF files with ease Produce quality PDF files in seconds and preserve the integrity of your original documents Compatible across nearly all Windows platforms if you can print from a windows application you can use pdfMachine Get yours now
