AbstractEnhancement of boiling heat transfer as one of the most efficient kind of heat transferprocesses that occurs in variety engineering applications has been the subject of severalinvestigations over the past few years Boiling heat transfer is affected by the wall heatflux heating surface geometry and properties thermo physical characteristics of fluid andpresence of additives such as solid particles surfactants and emulsifiers The aim of Thisinvestigation is to study about the boiling heat transfer characteristics of Al O$ waterNewtonian nanofluid as well as Al O$ CMC Non Newtonian nano fluid Nano fluidsare liquid suspensions containing nano particles with thermal conductivities higher thanthe base liquids and with sizes smaller than nm In this research differentconcentrations of Al O$ particles in water nano fluids CMC solutions and NonNewtonian nano fluid of Al O$ particles in CMC solution were studied under nucleatepool boiling heat transfer conditions Experiments were carried out at atmosphericpressure Results show that nano fluids can noticeably increase boiling heat transfercoefficients Amount of increasing is related to particle concentration The boilingexperiments of CMC solution exhibit deterioration in the boiling heat transferperformance with increasing CMC concentration because of increasing in solutionviscosity However adding nano particles to CMC Non Newtonian solution resultenhancement in boiling performance
