    AbstractRadio Frequency Identification RFID systems have been introduced since World War Butthe basic principles for the technology have changed little Recently this technology is being usedfor many applications like traffic inventory control and tagging articles This technology can be avery good replacement for traditional bar code An RFID system is composed of readers and tags Information is stored inside the tags and readers read this information by different algorithms Byconsidering the growth of this technology and its application in different areas and using manyreaders simultaneously collision may occur between readers To solve this problem variousmethods have been proposed with advantages and disadvantages For example Colorwave solvescollision problem using time division and avoiding readers to work simultaneously HiQalgorithm controls the collision by using a central controller and learning algorithm In this thesisa new method using RTS CTS mechanism used in 802 11 standard is proposed For RFIDnetworks RTS CTS is modified a little and directive antenna is used for both readers and tags Finally different scenarios are simulated and higher speed and throughput are observed
