AbstractThe aim of this study was investigated the possibilities of ensiling high moisture sugarbeet pulp with using pith by product of sugar cane wheat straw molasses andinoculants High moisture sugar beet pulp averagely 85 and 90 moisture wasmixed with different levels of pith 0 5 and 10 wheat straw 0 and 5 molasses 0 and 5 and a bacterial inoculants contains lactobacillus plantarum in order todecrease the effluent output provide WSC and quickly pH reduction The mixedmaterials were stored in experimental silos of 3 5 kg for three months At the end ofthe incubation period the experimental silos were opened and the silages wereevaluated by measuring the fermentation and nutritional characteristics The resultsindicated that using of sugar beet pulp with 85 moisture increased the amounts ofdry matter pH ADF dry matter digestibility and decreased the amounts of effluent lactic acid and VFA production relative to 90 moisture P 0 05 using of molassesdecreased amounts of NDF ADF lactic acid and VFA but increased dry matter anddry matter digestibility significantly P 0 05 Pith adding was caused reduction in thepercentage of crude protein ammonia N dry matter basis dry matter digestibility WSC effluent amounts lactic acid VFA and increased pH dry matter NDF andADF P 0 05 Wheat straw caused an increase the percentage of dry matter anddecrease effluent amounts P 0 05 Ammonia N dry matter basis pH acetic andbutyric acids contents decreased in such treatments and WSC and lactic acidincreased in such treatments due to the added inoculants Finally it is possible toobtain high quality sugar beet pulp silage by increasing its dry matter content withpith wheat straw sugar beet molasses and adding inoculants
