97 Ecological studies on Pteropyrum aucheri and its capability in arid lands rehabilitation in Isfahan province Zeinab Rafiee Afoosi zrafiee@yahoo com April 7 2010 Department of Natural Resources Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83 111 Iran 12 pt TNR Degree M Sc Language FarsiAbstract One of the appropriate methods to reduce arid area is identifying the potential of these areas and by usingthese potential properties introduces suitable species to reduce these areas Native plant societies areaccounted as a constant ecosystem One of the native species of country pastures is Pteropyrum aucheri These small shrubs usually grow in arid and semi arid areas Since there is no research about Aut ecologyPteropyrum aucheri species in Isfahan province this research seems necessary This study consists of threeparts as follows 1 Germination experiments 2 Studying the place of growing Pteropyrum aucheri 3 Phonology studies In germination studies these experiments were done 1 Pteropyrum aucheri breakingSeed dormancy experiment in this experiment 16 treatments were performed to cleave seed dormancy andfinally a suitable method was determined for it 2 An experiment to determine the resistance to dryness inthe time of seed germination in this experiment effect of different levels of dryness two seed populationand mutual effect of dryness and two populations in seed germination quality were studied 3 Anexperiment to determine the effect of salinity in germination and growth of Pteropyrum aucheri 4 Seedculture in Culture trays Habitat study was done in Seyyed Mohammad Mountain in Isfahan University bymaking a network in systemic random method Phonology researches and data record were also done forabout 1 year and finally the results were illustrated by quantity and explanatory characteristics The results ofgermination experiments showed that Pteropyrum aucheri seeds have Chemical dormancy preventive andby putting the seeds in water flow seed dormancy would be overcome In comparison to the new cut andgreen seeds One year seeds would germinate more 3 Pteropyrum aucheri seeds can germinate about 9DesiSiemens per meter but salty water will reduce the speed of germination length of stems and roots and theAlometry Coefficient 4 Pteropyrum aucheri seeds can germinate in 6 bars but dryness will reduce thespeed of germination length of stems and roots and the Algometry Coefficient 5 To culture Pteropyrumaucheri in the vase you can use soil dung sand with 1 1 1 ration in preliminarily growing youngPteropyrum aucheri plants need day and night temperatures to grow well and in these conditions Pteropyrum aucheri seeds germinate well Phonologic researches show that September is the best time tocollect seeds because autumn is ahead and the weather is dry for the dry weather and light seeds they will bescattered by wind so it is better to collect seeds in September In late autumn and early of winter because ofraining seeds get wet and fungi grow in them The results of the studying the place of growth showed thatpresence and absence of Pteropyrum aucheri among physiological parameters and presence and absence ofcanals in plots is noticeable and among soil parameters presence and absence of clay and sand and pH isnoticeable The average of coverage level among soil parameters with EC clay and sand is significant theaverage coverage with EC is indirect it will reduce by increasing EC average coverage but the averagecover with sand percent is direct and it will increase by increasing the average of sand percent coverage Key Words Pteropyrum aucheri Germination Seed dormancy Aut ecology Phenology EC
