Isfahan University of Technology Department of Mining Engineering Hydrocarbon Potential Mapping in the North to Northwest Ilam District Using ASTER Satellite Imagery and Ground Ccontrol in GIS Environment Leila Pireh Leila pireh544@gmail com Department of Mining Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor s Name and Email address Hooshang Asadi Harooni hooshang@cc iut ac ir Nader Fathian Pour fathian@cc iut ac ir Abstract Due to the inherent uncertainties associated with most geologically related estimation and inference there would always exist some sort of estimation errors if we employ definite logical approaches like Boolean ones One of the recent model used in many scientific fields for making judgments and inference of phenomena with associated uncertainties is the fuzzy logic Fuzzy logic is considered as a knowledge bassed method in which weights layers of different at different levels and knowledge expertise have the highest role Microseepages from hydrocarbon reservoirs can cause a number of physico chemical alterations in overlying rocks soils and vegetation These surface changes can be detected by multispectral remote sensing imaging systems such as ASTER data In this research We used Aster data Study area is located in the Zagros tectonic zone and that is instead of the view that the structural part of the Zagros folded zone This area in Longitude coordinates 46 4 to 46 25 and latitude 33 47 to 34 03 to be included North and North West ilam Due to the presence of large oil fields the appropriate geological conditions and the emergence of various types of seepages hydrocarbon seepages light oil and heavy oil and gas zagros folded throughout the folded belt can be a suitable laboratory for test spectral remote sensing method in exploration hydrocarbons In the first stage of this research a database consisting of remote sensing ASTER data geology and structural controls was prepared To detect alterations related to hydrocarbon microseepages supervised classification of Spectral Angle Mapper method SAM was employed Endmembers for the classification were extracted from band rtio Ls Fit and the spectral index and MTMF method To classification endmembers for the lithology layer were extracted of pure pixel from image with no vegetation in n Dimensional Visualization and endmember for vegetation layer extracted of NDVI image Processing is prepared vegetation layer include three class dry vegetation semi green vegetation and green vegetation lithology layer include four class asmari formation agajari formation Pabdeh formation and gachsaran formation and alteration layer include kaolinite hematite limonite and chlorite Structure controllers Fault and lineaments resulted from geological ilam map 1 100000 Then Exploration layers using fuzzy logic method was introduced potential areas to explore oil and gas resources in the studied area Weighting factors was based on their degree importance in relation to Hydrocarbon microseepage Three models was prepared for the integration phase because we had three factors of different structural types including buffer fault the entire fault fault with two direction northwest Southest and Northeast Southwest Finally three map Hydrocarbon seepage desirability was prepared that were conforming together At the end of six points controled from fuzzy Logic model alteration and place an old oil wells in the area between the Ayvan Islamabad West Region Sarmast and Babagyr The presence Evidence were about of such Anticline axis of Bankvl anticline and Babagyr anticline crushed limestone and constructively with plenty of layering Asmari and Pabdeh formation abundant iron oxides limonite and hematite little abundant of chlorite certain vegetation shorter shrubs and sometimes dry and the presence of organic materials is very High agricultural soil black soil are can be such evidence introduced rats Hydrocarbon leakages Kye words Ilam S
