Isfahan University of Technology Department of Textile Engineering Synthesis of Para amino benzene hydroxyl ethyl sulphone Production of Monofunctional and Bifunctional Vinylsulphone Reactive Dyes with Parabase and Evaluation of Washfastness of Dyed Wool with Synthesized Dyes Mahdi Gholami m gholami@tx iut ac ir Date of Submission July 26 2010 Department of Textile Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Dr Alireza Moradi moradi@cc iut ac ir Abstract Parabase or para Amino phenyl Sulphato Ethyl sulphone is one of the most important compounds in synthesis of the Vinyl Sulfone Reactive dyes Vinyl Sulfone dyes are a class of reactive dyes which react chemically with certain fibres to form a covalent bond through the mechanism of additive nucleophil and shows excellent wash fastness Considering the importance of Parabase in synthesis the Vinyl Sulfone dyes and due to the lack of intention to produce this important matter in Iran the objective of current study was to produce Parabase and reviews of reaction conditions leads to production of this material and then achieve to produce monofunctional and bifunctional Vinyl Sulfone reactive dyes by using Parabase Wool fabric were dyeing with synthesized dyes Vilolet VS Red VS2 and acid dyes C I Acid Violet7 C I Acid Red 249 the wash fastness properties of wool dyed with leveling and milling Acid dyes compared productive research was also synthesis Parabase and reviews of reaction conditions leads to production of this material reactive dyes by a two factor Vinyl Sulfone Using Parabase be made productive Using synthesized Parabase monofunctional Reactive dye Vilolet VS and bifunctional reactive dye Red VS2 were produced For proving the existence of reactive groups in synthesized dyes wool fabrics were dyeing with these dyes C I Acid Violet7 and C I Acid Red 249 The reason for choosing these two acidic dyes was the relatively chemical structure similarity between these dyes and synthesized dyes Washfastness of wool fabrics dyeing with mentioned dyes was measured based on international standard ISO 105 CO4 The results showed the better washing fastness of wool fabrics dyeing with synthesized dyes in comparison to product of wool dyeing with acid dyes In order to more accurately analyze the results of washfastness were investigated by using reflection spectrophotometer Calorimetrically data of
