A new geometric representation for thermodynamics of black hole Seyed Ali Hosseini Mansoori sa hosseinimansoori@ph iut ac ir 2012 Department of Physics Sciences Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Supervisor Dr Behrouz Mirza b mirza@cc iut ac ir Advisor Dr Moslem Zarei m zarei@cc iut ac ir 2010 MSC 05C15 53C42 Keywords Thermodynamic geometry The speci c heat Scalar curvature AbstractIn this thesis we study the thermodynamics and the thermodynamic geometries of various black holes We investigate the thermodynamics of these black holes within the context of the Weinhold and Rup peiner thermodynamic geometries and the recently developed formalism of geometrothermodynamics GTD Considering the behavior of the heat capacity and the Hawking temperature we show thatWeinhold and Ruppeiner geometries cannot describe completely the thermodynamics of these blackholes In contrast in the space of thermodynamic equilibrium states a Legendre invariant metricgives us all the information about the thermodynamics of black holes Of course the curvature of thisthermodynamic metric becomes singular at those points where according to the analysis of the heatcapacities phase transitions occur This means that singularities of the scalar curvature are exactlygiven by the phase transition points Recently a new solution of Enistein anti Maxwell theory with cosmological constant which is calledPhantom Reissner Nordstrom AdS black hole solution anti Reissner Nordstrom A de sitter hasbeen investigated For studying the thermodynamic properties of this solution it is necessary toexpress the mass energy in terms of the radius of the events horizon and the charge Consideringthe rst law of thermodynamic and mass function it is simple to calculate intensive variables suchas the Hawking temperature and the electric potential for Phantom black hole The thermodynamicproperties of Phantom Reissner Nordstrom AdS black hole solution can be analysed in many ways One of them is the usual study made by Davies But there are other methods well established both
