64 Investigation of process and properties of electroless Ni P hard chrome hybridic coating on DHP copper substrate Seyyed Mahdi Mousavi Mahdi 8791@yahoo com Dec 19 2012 Department of Materials Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiDr Seyyed Mahmoud Monir Vaghefi associated professor supervisor Monir vagh@cc iut ac irAbstractIn this research the deposition process properties microstructure and wear behavior of electrolessNi P hard chrome hybridic coating was investigated to improve the wear resistance hardness andadhesion of the coatings In order to improving adhesion of coating sandblast process wasperformed before plating and then samples were coated by electroless Ni P hard chrome coating To evaluate Effect of thickness on the properties of electroless Ni P coating samples were coatedwith thicknesses of 15 25 35 and 45 m and then were covered by 100 m of hard chromecoating Finally the effect of factors such as thickness temperature and time of heat treatment onproperties such as hardness adhesion and wear resistance of electroless Ni P hard chrome hybridiccoatings assessed and evaluated by using of methods and devices such as SEM XRD EDAX optical microscopy and microhardness The wear behavior of electroless Ni P hard chromehybridic coatings were studied by pin on disk wear test in both hot and cold Tests performed indry conditions and load from 250 gr to 8 kg wear distance from 50 to 2000 m and temperaturefrom 50 to 250 C were performed to improve Hardness and wear resistance of electroless Ni P hard chrome hybridic coating and according to recrystallization temperature of DHP copper samples tempering performed at 300 500 C at 1 5 to 6 h results showe that the electroless Ni P hard chrome hybridic coating heat treated at 300 C for 6 hours have best properties in wearresistance and hardness Also be seen the surface sandblasted before coating significantly increasesthe adhesion of coatings Key wordsHybridic coating Electroless Ni P Heat treatment Tribological properties
