۶ Preparation of Electrochemical Sensors Based on MgCr2O4 NiFe2O4Nanoparticles Modified Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes for Trace Analysis of Phenazopyridine and Dopamine Using Differential Pulse Voltammetry Bahareh Arashpour b arashpour@yahoo com December 31 2012 Department of Chemistry Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiAli A Ensafi@cc iut ac irAbstract In this research two electrochemical sensors fabricated for sensitive and selectivedetermination of phenazopyridine PAP and dopamine DA The electrochemical behaviorof these compounds at the modified electrode were studied by cyclic voltammetry CV differential pulse voltammetry DPV and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy EIS In the first work the modified glassy carbon electrode activated with multiwallcarbon nanotubes decorated with MgCr2O4 magnetic nanoparticle MgCr2O4 MWCNTs was used to determine PAP After optimization of several effective parameters PAP wasdetermined in the range of 0 05 to M and with detection limit of 0 02 M The relativestandard deviation RSD for ten successive measurements of 5 0 M PAP was 1 3 Atthe second work the modified glassy carbon electrode with multiwall carbon nanotubes thatdecorated with NiFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles NiFe2O4 MWCNTs was used to determineof DA This sensor was optimized and used for determination of DA over two dynamicranges of 0 05 6 0 M and 6 0 100 M and with the detection limit of 0 02 M RSD for30 0 M DA is 1 9 These modified electrodes showed enhanced electrochemicalresponse and strong analytical activity towards the direct electrochemical oxidation of PAPand DA The influences of interfering compounds on the selectivity were studied Finallythese modified electrodes were successfully applied to the determination of PAP and DA inbiological compounds such as tablet serum and urine samples Keywords Glassy carbon electrode Carbon nanotubes MgCr2O4 MWCNTs NiFe2O4 MWCNTs Phenazopyridine Dopamine
