68 Loading of zinc II acetate and essential oil drug in poly ethylene glycol Faezeh Hashemi F Hashemi18@yahoo com Department of Chemistry Isfahan University of Technology 84156 83111 Isfahan Iran Prof S H Gaziaskar Email ghazi@cc iut ac ir Prof H Hadadzadeh Email hadadzadeh@cc iut ac ir Dr A Aslani Email aslani@ pharm mui ac ir Isfahan University of Technology 84156 83111 Isfahan Iran Abstract In this project destructive drug delivery of zinc II ion with essential oil medicines such as Fennel was done through two methods Loading the essence with organic solution in foamed composite and loading with supercritical carbon dioxide were carried out and compared together In order to design the test related to essence loading with supercritical carbon dioxide Minitab 16 software and Central Cubic Design response surface method CCD was used by considering two factors of pressure and saturation time Models of loaded essence yield were obtained in the form of second order formulation with two factors Experiments designed DOE was carried out by considering 5 surfaces for each factor and in the operating conditions including the pressure of 80 200 bar and saturation time of 8 24 h The optimized operating conditions for achieving the maximum amount of essence loading percentage with supercritical carbon dioxide were obtained as the pressure of 80 bar and saturation time of 24 h pressure decrease time of 30 min and temperature of 40 C What is more at 41 C pressure of 160 bar saturation time of 16 h and foaming time of 15 S included the proper operating condition for foaming poly ethylene glycol The obtained foam was investigated by scanning electron microscopy The results of comparing the two above mentioned methods show that more loading occurs with organic solvent In order to determine the concentration of released zinc II ion in this conditions atomic absorption instrument was used zinc II and essence release diagram in blood plasma was drawn using the results of Uv vis spectrophotometer Keywords zinc II ion drug delivery loading supercritical carbon dioxide essential oil poly ethylene glycol foam PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www pdffactory com
