Stability Criteria and stabilizing controller design for impulsive switching systems Arezou Elahi a elahi@ec iut ac ir Date of Submission 2013 09 17 Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Farid Sheikhol Eslam sheikh@cc iut ac irAbstract Impulsive phenomena are ubiquitous in the real world In many cases the impulsive effects occur whenswitching exists This leads to a special class of hybrid systems i e impulsive switched systems In thepast decades the importance of impulsive switched systems has been highlighted by many researchersbecause of finding broad application in impact mechanics biological population management qualitycontrol adjustment of satellite orbit non smooth optimization problems and so on It should be noted that although impulsive systems and switched systems have had many recent studies in control engineering andmathematics literature there are still many open questions related to impulse switched systems The purpose of this thesis is the study of uncertain nonlinear impulsive switched systems with timedelay The system under consideration involves multiple time delay in the state external disturbance perturbation and nonlinear uncertainties The parameter uncertainties are norm bounded time varying perturbation is function of time state variables and delayed state variables The first step isinvestigating the global asymptotic stability of the system without input and disturbance The second step isto examine performance for systems without inputs The third step is designing robust controllerfor stabilization of the closed loop system with impulse disturbance with Lyapunov function method sufficient conditions are developed to ensure for global asymptotic stability and robust disturbanceattenuation performance in terms of linear matrix inequalities Using Lyapunov Krasovskii function andRazumikhin approach are determined conditions for global asymptotic stability Some examples are givento illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method Keywords Switching impulsive systems Global asymptotic stability Robust stability Impulsivecontrol
