Abstract Julfa area is located in the Uromiyeh Dokhtar tectonic setting that hosts many porphyrycopper deposits In this study the exploratory model of Zenouz copper index has beenstudied According to collected and studied samples through fluid inclusion studies it isconcluded that there is a porphyry system at depth and an epithermal system on topof a porphyry system 59 soil geochemical samples are collected from the target area and areanalyzed by ICP Cluster analysis has displayed that gold and arsenic and copper andmolybdenum are accompanied together The relationship between these two groups suggeststhat there can be porphyry and epithermal systems Also due to the high positive correlationbetween these four elements as a result of factor analysis the corresponding factor is assumedas mineralization factor This study was examined the geological lithological mineralogical geochemical and remote sensing data on 1 100000 Julfa sheet The purpose of this study wasinvestigation on Zenouz porphyry copper index and determination of exploration criteria These criteria later are used to detect similar potential resources in Jolfa sheet in GISenvironment Statistical analysis was carried on 427 stream sediment samples of Julfa region Univariate statistical analysis is continued by threshold determination for elements employingdifferent methods and these thresholds are used to map the distribution of elements Todisplay geochemical distribution pattern of Cu catchment basin of each sample is delineatedin GIS environment Remote sensing studies were carried out by using Aster images toidentify the different geological units and differentiation of argillic alteration vegetation andiron oxide in 1 100000 Julfa map Mineral potential mapping is one of the important tools inearly stages of prospecting and exploration of the mineral resources Mineralization factorsinclude lithology argillic alteration geochemistry and faults layers are prepared for dataintegration in GIS environment After producing factor maps in ArcGIS environment themineral potential generated using fuzzy logic model and finally two class map was producedby back fuzzy method The favorable areas cover 5 7 of total area which is equivalent to 110square kilometers Zenous index was studied as the case to confirm the accuracy of the results Finally it turned out that it was in good agreement with the results of integration method andmineral potential mapping in this study Keywords Fuzzy logic Zenouz Porphyry copper Geochemical modeling Remotesensing Julfa
